St. Louis Public Library MLK Food Drive: Support Local Families

The St. Louis Public Library annual MLK Food Drive is back, offering the community a chance to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy by helping families in need. In partnership with the St. Louis Area Foodbank, this initiative runs from December 15 through January 31, encouraging residents to donate nonperishable food and essential items at any library location. Together, we can make a difference for those facing food insecurity in the St. Louis area.

How the MLK Food Drive Supports the St. Louis Community

The St. Louis Public Library (SLPL), in collaboration with the St. Louis Area Foodbank, is committed to addressing hunger and supporting families across the region. This annual food drive not only celebrates Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision of service and equality but also provides a tangible way for the community to come together and give back.

“Supporting the community we serve has always been our top priority, especially this year as so many of our neighbors continue to recover from the May tornado,” said Laura Stallings, Director of Neighborhood Services at SLPL. “Through our partnership with the St. Louis Area Foodbank, we hope to make this season a little brighter for those who need it most.”
