D9 Sunday: Celebrating the Divine Nine Legacy at Trinity Church
The Divine Nine have left an indelible mark on history, and Trinity Church DC is proud to honor their legacy. On Sunday, January 25, 2026, join us for D9 Sunday, a celebration of faith, service, and leadership. This annual event highlights the contributions of Black Greek-letter organizations and their ongoing impact on civil rights, education, and community service.
Whether you are a member of these historic organizations or simply seeking inspiration, this is your opportunity to connect, reflect, and be transformed. The day promises to be both uplifting and empowering.
A Legacy of Leadership and Service
The Divine Nine represent resilience and vision. These organizations emerged during a time when Black excellence needed a space to thrive. From the founding of Alpha Phi Alpha, the 1st Black fraternity, in 1906 to the establishment of Iota Phi Theta in 1963, they have consistently led the charge for social change.
Members of the Divine Nine have played pivotal roles in the civil rights movement, broken barriers in corporate America, and served as pillars in their communities. Beyond their political and social contributions, their mottos reflect a deep commitment to faith, service, and unity. These values align seamlessly with Trinity Church DC’s mission to live out the Gospel through action.
By celebrating the Divine Nine, Trinity Church DC not only honors their past achievements but also looks forward to the future contributions they will inspire.
