
Bell Secures Over $12.3 Million for Transformative Projects in St. Louis Region
Representative Wesley Bell (D-Mo.) announced a major win for Missouri this week. He secured over $12.3 million in funding for the First Congressional District. This money comes from the FY2026 Community Project Funding.

âFrom day one, my top goal has been bringing federal dollars back to St. Louis,â said Rep. Bell.

âThis investment means safer streets and better buildings,â Bell added. âIt also brings real economic chances. I am proud to get this funding. Now, I am excited to see these projects become reality.â
14 Major Projects for St. Louis
The funding supports 14 different projects. Each one addresses a specific community need. Here is a closer look at where the money is going.
Improving Travel and Roads
First, St. Louis Lambert International Airport gets $3.15 million. This money will build a new utility plant and electrical station. These updates are vital for the airport’s growth. Furthermore, they help the local economy expand.
Next, Operation Smart Street receives $1.2 million. This St. Louis County project installs smart units at traffic lights. As a result, safety improves for drivers and walkers. It also helps emergency responders communicate better on the road.
