In addition, Jackie Denise (Croffett), will be bringing awareness to this event; a woman that has always been an advocate for helping her black and brown people. Born in East St. Louis, Illinois, she grew up in a predominantly white neighborhood in Lansing Michigan.
Jackie at 13, came back to the community of East St. Louis to make a difference. Jackie’s hard work, education and dedication throughout the years earned her a background in both Legal and Special Education while also helping out the neighborhoods.
In 2002, Jackie joined the NAACP. The organization was formed in New York City by Black and White activists, partially in response to the ongoing violence against African Americans around the country. There are over 2200 Branches across the United States.
Jackie is a member of the NAACP East St Louis branch. She is part of the Political Action Committee and is also co-chair of the Hospitality Committee alongside Lillie Tate. Their focus is on working with the youth, training them to serve in the community and at various events.
