St. Louis Symphony Orchestra Announces Diverse February 2026 Concert Lineup Including Mozart, Coltrane, and Black History Month Tributes

The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra (SLSO) has unveiled its exciting programming for February 2026. Indeed, it offers a diverse array of performances that range from classical masterworks to contemporary tributes. The upcoming Saint Louis Symphony calendar is packed with unique events. For example, it features a concert version of Mozart’s The Magic Flute and a live-to-film performance of Amadeus. Additionally, there will be celebrations for musical icons Tina Turner and John Coltrane. Tickets for all concerts are on sale now at slso.org.

SLSO February Schedule Highlights Cultural Breadth

The stl symphony continues its season with a robust schedule. This lineup honors both classical traditions and modern musical heritage. First, the month begins with an intimate chamber music experience, “Live at The Sheldon: Songs of Belonging,” on February 5. Curated by SLSO musicians, this program explores the concept of home. It does so through works by Johannes Brahms, Kevin Puts, and Paul Wiancko.

Then, orchestral programming resumes on February 6-7. Conductor Xian Zhang will lead the orchestra in Sergei Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 5. Furthermore, this program marks the first SLSO performances of Reena Esmail’s RE|Member and Billy Childs’s saxophone concerto, Diaspora. It also features Steven Banks in his debut with the orchestra.

Celebrating Musical Legends on the Saint Louis Symphony Calendar

This February offers several unique opportunities to experience the stl symphony outside of its traditional classical repertoire. For instance, on February 15, the orchestra teams up with St. Louis CITY SC for “Eternal: A Tribute to Tina Turner.” This concert honors the Queen of Rock’s deep roots in the city. Later in the month, the orchestra will celebrate the centennial of jazz legend John Coltrane. This event, titled “Coltrane 100: Legacy,” is on February 28 and features saxophonist Joe Lovano.

Meanwhile, film lovers can enjoy Amadeus in Concert on February 13-14. Music Director Stéphane Denève will lead the orchestra in Mozart’s celebrated works live to the Academy Award-winning film. The Mozart celebration continues on February 20 and 22 with a complete concert version of The Magic Flute. This performance will feature a cast of star vocalists and the St. Louis Symphony Chorus.

Honoring Black History Month

A staple of the Saint Louis Symphony calendar, the annual “Lift Every Voice” concert returns on February 27. In this performance, the SLSO and the St. Louis Symphony IN UNISON Chorus will celebrate Black History Month with music from the African diaspora. Consequently, this event highlights the chorus’s important role as a bridge between the orchestra and the St. Louis community.

Audiences can attend a Pre-Concert Conversation one hour prior to each classical concert. These talks allow attendees to learn more about the music and artists. Tickets may be purchased at slso.org or by calling the Box Office at 314-534-1700.
