A Warrenton, Missouri man has admitted to making violent and racist threats against the St. Louis office of the NAACP, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri.
Darryl Jaspering, 62, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to one count of interference with federally protected activities. The charge stems from a disturbing message Jaspering posted on the NAACPâs online contact page.
The message, laced with profanity and racial slurs, included explicit threats such as âblow your⊠head offâ and âbust you⊠with a⊠Hatchet and make you bleedâŠ.â
Jasperingâs sentencing is scheduled for February 5, 2026.
Special Agent in Charge Chris Crocker of the FBI emphasized the gravity of the case, stating, âDarryl Jasperingâs guilty plea should send a clear message that the FBI is serious about investigating hate crimes. Threats and acts of violence against any group, especially those based on race, religion, or any other characteristic, will not be tolerated. We are committed to ensuring all members of our community can live and work without fear of being targeted for who they are. FBI St. Louis stands as a strong partner in protecting the rights and safety of everyone in our region.â
The case was investigated by the FBI, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Christine Krug is leading the prosecution.
This announcement comes after the conclusion of the federal government shutdown, with the press release officially posted on November 19, 2025.
