Another week in the books. The NFL’s second week has come to an end, and the league’s third week is underway. Last week had some big wins, and this week, there could be some more. Without further ado, let’s take a look at this week and what to expect.

New England Patriots vs New York Jets (Jets -6.5) – The New England Patriots are 1-1 so far, as they managed to beat the Cincinnati Bengals in their first game. In their second week, they lost to the Seattle Seahawks 23-20 in overtime. Now, they face a fellow AFC East team. The New York Jets are also 1-1, as they lost to the San Francisco 49ers in their first game. They lost to the 49ers 32-19 and in the second game, they beat the Tennessee Titans 24-17. This is New York’s first home game, and it would be a good opportunity for Aaron Rodgers and company to go 2-1. And chances are, they do just that.

Prediction: The Jets take it

New York Giants vs Cleveland Browns (Browns -6.5) – The New York Giants are searching for their first win, as they lost their first two to the Minnesota Vikings and the Washington Commanders. The Vikings beat them 28-6 and the Commanders beat them 21-18. The Giants will be on the road this week, as they take on the Cleveland Browns. The Browns are 1-1 this season, as they bounced back from their loss to the Dallas Cowboys with a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Cowboys beat them 33-17, then the Browns traveled to Jacksonville and beat them 18-13. The Browns are back home before a brief road trip, and they have a chance to go 2-1 (and give the Giants their third straight loss). The Browns should have no problem getting this win.

Prediction: The Browns win

Philadelphia Eagles vs New Orleans Saints (Saints -2.5) – The Philadelphia Eagles are 1-1 so far, as they beat the Green Bay Packers 34-29. Then, the Eagles took on the Atlanta Falcons in the battle of the birds on Monday, and came up short. The Falcons beat them 22-21. The Eagles have a tougher challenge ahead, as they take on the New Orleans Saints. The Saints are off to a good start this season, as they are currently 2-0. The Saints started the season with a 47-10 win over the Carolina Panthers. They followed up with a 44-19 win over the Dallas Cowboys. The Saints are on a roll, and a win over the Eagles, especially with them being even more motivated due to their loss to the Falcons, will be a momentum booster. Can the Saints keep it going?

Prediction: The Saints take it

Houston Texans vs Minnesota Vikings (Texans -2.5) – The Houston Texans pulled off a close win in their first week. They beat the Indianapolis Colts 29-27. In their second week, the Texans beat the Chicago Bears 19-13. The Texans are off to a good start in a division where other teams are still searching for their first wins. The Texans took care of business at home last week, and this week, they are headed to Minnesota with hopes of keeping their perfect season alive. The Minnesota Vikings are also off to a good start, as they beat the Giants and the 49ers in their first two games. They beat the Giants 28-6 and they beat the 49ers 23-17. C.J. Stroud is off to a nice start, and going against Sam Darnold, Stroud and the Texans can get the win.

Prediction: The Texans win

Denver Broncos vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Buccaneers -7) – The Denver Broncos are 0-2 to start the season. They lost to the Seattle Seahawks, then lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Broncos are searching for their first win, as they head to Tampa Bay to face the Buccaneers. The Buccaneers are 2-0 so far. They started the season with a 37-20 win over the Commanders. They followed up with a 20-16 win over the Detroit Lions. Baker Mayfield is off to a solid start this season, and has thrown for 474 yards and five touchdowns. Mayfield and the Broncos should have no issue picking up another win this week, and should beat the Broncos.

Prediction: The Buccaneers win

Green Bay Packers vs Tennessee Titans (Titans -2.5) – The Green Bay Packers 1-1 to start the season. They lost to the Eagles in their first week, but picked up a win over the Colts the following week. Packers quarterback Jordan Love missed Week 2 with an MCL sprain, but Love practiced with the team as they gear up for this week. The Packers also placed rookie running back MarShawn Lloyd on injured reserve. The Tennessee Titans are 0-2 so far, and are one of three teams in the AFC South looking for their first win. The Titans lost to the Chicago Bears in their first game, then lost to the Jets. The Titans are at home this week, and it would be good to get a win. However, even with injuries, the Packers can get the win.

Prediction: The Packers win

Chicago Bears vs Indianapolis Colts (Colts -1) – The Chicago Bears are 1-1 so far. They beat the Titans in their first game, but lost to the Texans after that. Rookie quarterback and the first pick of the 2024 draft Caleb Williams is still trying to find his way. The quarterback finished the Bears’ first game with 93 yards. In their second game, Williams threw for 174 yards and had two interceptions. Williams could improve this week and prove why he was the top pick. The Indianapolis Colts are 0-2. They lost to the Texans and the Packers. The Colts are home for their next two games, and this could be a chance to finally get a win.

Prediction: The Colts take it

Los Angeles Chargers vs Pittsburgh Steelers (Steelers -1.5) – The Los Angeles Chargers are 2-0 to start the season. They beat the Las Vegas Raiders 22-10 and then they beat the Carolina Panthers 26-3. The Chargers have a chance to keep that momentum going with a win over Pittsburgh. The Steelers are off to a good start despite their quarterback issue. The Steelers are 2-0 as Russell Wilson continues to recover from an injury. Justin Fields is in the starting role once again, and he and the Steelers want to get another win. The Steelers have beat the Falcons and the Broncos, and this week, they will likely add the Chargers to that list.

Prediction: The Steelers win

Miami Dolphins vs Seattle Seahawks (Seahawks -4.5) – The Miami Dolphins are 1-1. They beat the Jaguars in a close game in the first week, and in the second week, they lost to the Buffalo Bills. The Dolphins are in a tough spot as their quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion. Tagovailoa is now on Miami’s injured reserve list. The Seahawks are 2-0 after two close wins. They beat the Broncos 26-20 and they beat the Patriots 23-20. The Seahawks have a chance to get a win as Miami looks to recover from Tagovailoa’s injury.

Prediction: The Seahawks win

Carolina Panthers vs Las Vegas Raiders (Raiders -5.5) – The Carolina Panthers are off to a rough start. They are 0-2 with their first loss being a 47-10 loss to the Saints. The Panthers struggled last season, and this season will be much of the same. This week they are headed to Las Vegas to face the Raiders. The Raiders are 1-1, as they lost to the Chargers but beat the Ravens in a surprising 26-23 win. Beating Baltimore is no easy task, and it gives them some momentum going into this game. The Raiders should take this game.

Prediction: The Raiders take it

San Francisco 49ers vs Los Angeles Rams (49ers -7.5) – The San Francisco 49ers are 1-1 so far, as they beat the Jets but lost to the Vikings. The loss to Minnesota was somewhat surprising, but this week will be different. The 49ers should take last week’s loss and use it as motivation to get a win this week. The Los Angeles Rams are 0-2. They lost to the Lions in their first week, and last week the Arizona Cardinals pulled off an impressive 41-10 win over them. This week, the Rams take on a fellow NFC West team. With that said, the 49ers should get the win.

Detroit Lions vs Arizona Cardinals (Lions -3) – The Detroit Lions are 1-1 going into this week. They beat the Rams in the first week, and lost to Tampa Bay last week. This week, they take on an opponent that got a surprise win last week. The Cardinals lost to the Colts in their first game, but as mentioned they beat the Rams 41-10. That was a major win for Arizona, but this week will be a bit different.

Prediction: The Lions win

Baltimore Ravens vs Dallas Cowboys (Ravens -1) – The Baltimore Ravens are 0-2 this season, which comes as a surprise. They lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the first game of the NFL season, then they lost to Las Vegas. The Ravens are looking for their first win as they take on the Cowboys. The Cowboys are 1-1 after a nice win over Cleveland followed up with a big loss to the Saints. The Cowboys could play well this week, but it is hard to say. This is especially true against Baltimore. The Ravens are hungry for their first win, and this could be their chance

Prediction: The Ravens win

Kansas City Chiefs vs Atlanta Falcons (Chiefs -3.5) – The Kansas City Chiefs are off to a good start. They are 2-0 with wins over the Ravens and the Bengals. The win over the Bengals was closer than they would have liked (as they won 26-25), but they got the win. Kansas City will look to go 3-0 this week with a win over Atlanta. The Falcons are 1-1 after their close win over the Eagles, it was an impressive win, but it will be hard to follow up with a win over Kansas City. Kansas City (who also recently signed Kareem Hunt) should get this win.

Prediction: The Chiefs win

Jacksonville Jaguars vs Buffalo Bills (Bills -5.5) – The Jacksonville Jaguars are 0-2 after losses to the Dolphins and the Browns. Like their fellow AFC South teams (the Titans and the Colts), they are looking for their first win. The Bills on the other hand are 2-0. They beat the Cardinals and the Dolphins. The Bills are back home after their big road win over Miami, and now, they can keep their streak going with a win over Jacksonville.

Prediction: The Bills take it

Washington Commanders vs Cincinnati Bengals (Bengals -7.5) – The Commanders and the Bengals will be the second Monday matchup (with the Jaguars and Bills being the first). The Commanders are 1-1 with a loss to Tampa Bay and a win over the Giants. Cincinnati are 0-2 after their close loss to the Chiefs. And even though they lost, they put up a fight. This week is a chance for Cincinnati to get a win after being so close last week.

Prediction: The Bengals win

The action continues, and there will be some good games this week.
