Please keep in mind that they no longer accept just what you submit; they will require official documents to verify your claims. Because SNAP not only supports underserved households in securing food but also provides temporary assistance to able-bodied clients who may need short-term help.
| Beginning October 1, 2026, the Family Support Division will update verification requirements for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). For some information, we have previously been able to accept a participant’s statement as verification. Starting October 1, 2026, a participant’s statement alone will no longer be accepted as proof for certain shelter costs, dependent care or childcare expenses, and countable resources.What is changing? Submitting complete verification when requested can help prevent delays in processing a SNAP case.
