Connecting Communities: The Impact of Beltline Transit on Modern Urban Living
The Atlanta BeltLine is a sustainable redevelopment project that will provide a network of 1,300 acres of public parks, 33 miles of multi-use trails and 22 miles of transit along an historic 22-mile railroad corridor circling downtown. It connects many neighborhoods directly to each other. Currently, four trails and six parks are open. Check out the VISIT tab at www.beltline.org to see what’s open and how to get there. You can also download the ‘Get on the Atlanta BeltLine’ mobile app for iPhone and Android smart phones!
The Atlanta BeltLine is the most comprehensive transportation and economic development effort ever undertaken in the City of Atlanta, and among the largest, most wide-ranging urban redevelopment programs currently underway in the United States.
This 22-mile trail loops the city, connecting neighborhoods and showcasing why Atlanta is “The City in the Forest.” With everchanging artwork, unique shops, lively bars and restaurants, the Beltline is the best way to explore the city on foot, on wheels or with your furry friends.
