With the world always moving at a fast pace and technology rapidly growing, it’s nearly impossible to get the inside track on which new artists are making a name for themselves in the music industry.
Well, have no fear; I have done my due diligence to bring you the top five artists that are making noise around the world.
As we head into the third quarter, here are five emerging artists that you should know about.
Coi Leray
24-year-old Coi Leray was born in Boston Massachusetts. Her father is rap pioneer, Benzino.
Coi is a hip-hop artist known for her melodic rapping style over beautiful soulful beats. She has two songs to hit the Billboard Hot 100, “No More Parties“(feat Lil Durk) and “Big Purr” (feat Pooh Shiesty).
In April, She was chosen as Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Rookie of the Month.
Alaina Castillo
Alaina is a pop star from Texas that is taking the world by storm. What’s fascinating about Alana is that she is a bi-lingual pop star.
Her voice is commanding and the vibe she gives off is upbeat and entertaining. This same sentiment can be heard throughout her hit song, “Parate.”
Alewya
Alewya is a soulful singer who puts you in the mind of an Erykah Badu or India Arie. She is from London, Uk, and is of Egyptian and Ethiopian heritage.
She is a multitalented, diverse singer and songwriter. Her visual performing art pieces capture the minds of music listeners as she brings you well-thought-out treatments for her videos. This can be seen in her hit song, “Sweating.”
Anxious
From Connecticut, Anxious is a punk rock group that is becoming known as an intense band that wears their heart on their sleeves.
They are cutting edge and evoke high energy with their aggressive lyrics that are sure to light a fire under anyone who listens to their music.
Their song titled, “Small” is becoming a hot sensation in the punk rock world. Even though they are on the underground circuit now, this group is definitely ready to take off and reap the fruits of their labor.
Grip
From Atlanta, Grip is the newest signee by Eminem to the Shady Records Imprint. Grip has a lyrical flow that is different from your typical ATL artist.
His rhyme patterns and voice reminds me of Kendrick Lamar. He brings an electrifying style to his music with witty wordplay that will have you rewinding his songs back just to catch his lines.
I see Grip growing as an artist, especially with having a great mentor such as Eminem. Check out his wordplay on his hit song, “Gutter.”
