If you are ever in the place that brands itself as the New Midwest, then you are in for a surprise. Kansas City, MO is a hotbed for young innovators as well as old souls.

The downtown, midtown and Westport areas all have seen a spark in rebirth. This sprawling metropolitan phenom is the 2nd largest to St. Louis, MO to the east.

However, everything is popping in the city’s proper, which has a larger population than it eastern associate. But don’t count St. Louis out just yet, it is seeing some cranes popping left to the right.

Whilst, Kansas City dances to a very different cosmopolitan flair. The people there are much more connected and diverse, with a larger than life appeal.

  1. American Jazz Museum-The American Jazz Museum is a jazz museum in the historic 18th and Vine district of Kansas City, Missouri. The museum preserves the history of American jazz music, with exhibits on Charlie Parker, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald and others.
  2. Negro League Baseball-The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum is a privately funded museum dedicated to preserving the history of Negro league baseball in America. 
  3. The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art – Kansas City- The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art arose from the aspirations of two individuals who likely never met, who had vastly different lives, but who each imagined a public art museum for Kansas City and the surrounding region. Both died more than 100 years ago and neither saw the museum become a reality.
