From lush tropical islands to unique locations with world-class cuisines, our list has it all. Martha’s Vineyard

Once considered only a playground for the rich, Martha’s Vineyard has now undergone a revival. This important location has cultural significance to Black culture that is well worth your time and attention. The Town Beach, called The Inkwell is a Black History staple and a great place to lounge while you catch the sun. If you visit towards the end of summer, you can watch the African American Film Festival in person. Legacy Week is held in late July and is a great opportunity to see Black Excellence in action. The Greek Isles are one of the most popular travel locations for Black vacationers this year. The Greek Isles offer tourist areas with beautiful villas looking out over the sea. You can visit a variety of different beaches while also enjoying the scrumptious food during your summer vacation. There is something to be said for the unique Black Caribbean Culture that is as rich as it is diverse. With summer just around the corner, you should start planning your trip now to beat the mid-summer rush.

Dubai

When you think about summer vacations Dubai may not come to mind but it should be near the top of your list. This city is a traveler’s dream and offers some of the most spectacular attractions in the entire world. While there are some simple rules to follow, there is plenty of fun to be found. Dubai even hosts special events specifically for POC and the Diaspora. Take a trip to one of the biggest malls in the world or take a dip in the public beach. While you are there make sure to take a picture from the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. A lot of misinformation is spread about what the Middle East has to offer for foreign travelers, so step out of your comfort zone and try something new this year.

St. Lucia, Soufrière District, and Choiseul District

For Black travelers that love the heat, St. Lucia is sure to deliver. This island paradise offers an abundance of lush greenery covering its many hills and valleys. For the adventurist among us, the drive-in volcano and the Sulphur Springs are sure to be a delight. Surround yourself with nature and reconnect with the earth in the Choiseul and Soufrière districts. For the hopeless romantics, grab your partner and head out the Anse Cochon, which is the island’s secluded clear water bay. There are many delights this island has to offer that you may need to come back again next summer.

Panama, Panama City

Panama offers the best of the tropics while also enabling visitors to stay within an urban metropolis.
