We often look back on yesterday and notice every mistake with excruciating clarity. Although the time to make a different choice has passed, we still find ourselves fretting over what we should have done, over what could have been, and about the time wasted. Accepting the fact that we failed to act, said the wrong thing, or did not respond at the right moment is difficult, but inevitable. You cannot turn back the clock to get a do-over. You can only press forward and take the wisdom gleaned from the experience with you.

Unfortunately, some people make the same errors repeatedly and struggle with the same regrets when they come full circle to, at the very least, a similar end. It is the same with health and fitness just as it is with every other issue that presents itself in life. Looking backwards into the rear-view mirror of life, you clearly see how you walked right into temptation when you accepted a lunch invitation with a friend who always sabotages your diet plan. Likewise, the flashing, neon exit sign directing you to the way of escaping the temptation not to workout looms larger than life in hindsight, but it seemed as dim as a nightlight when you chose to ignore it.
