Michael Jordan is one of the greatest players to ever play the game. In some people’s eyes, he is the greatest. Regardless of where you place him, Jordan impacted the game of basketball in a huge way. And with his birthday coming up, Jordan did something special.

Jordan recently made history off the court, as reports say that he donated $10 million to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. His donation is the largest individual donation the organization’s ever received.

Jordan spoke on the donation and what it meant to him.

“For the past 34 years, it’s been an honor to partner with Make-A-Wish and help bring a smile and happiness to so many kids,” Jordan said. “Witnessing their strength and resilience during such a tough time in their lives has truly been an inspiration.”

Jordan has history with the foundation, as he was named Make-A-Wish Chief Wish Ambassador in 2008. And even before that, he was a supporter of Make-A-Wish.

“I can’t think of a better birthday gift than seeing others join me in supporting Make-A-Wish so that every child can experience the magic of having their wish come true,” Jordan said.

Jordan is no stranger to giving. In 2021, Jordan and his company announced a million dollar commitment to Morehouse College. He donated to medical clinics in North Carolina in 2019 and back in 2016, he donated $5 million to the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. Jordan also has worked with the Boys and Girls Club, various food banks and more.

The NBA legend is a champion on the court, and as his actions show, he is a champion off the court as well.
