Are you looking for recommendations on what to watch from Black Creators? Everyday I see a post about recommendations on favorite shows to watch when you cozy up for couch time or even on the go. To close out this new year I wanted to put together a list of my favorite Black Shows to watch. And I hope that you’ll add these to your list of shows to watch and maybe share with others.

  1. The Chi, Seasons 1-4

The Show is about the Life of Youth in the South Side of Chicago and how actions can have life or death consequences for the residents. The young adults of the area are trying to scrape a living for themselves. The South Side has the potential to crush dreams, and this coming-of-age series focuses on Kevin, a preteen who embraces the normal rites of childhood, Brandon, who is has dream of becoming successful but lives in the shadow of his successful wife, Jerrika.

2. Snowfall, Seasons 1-5

The Show talks about the 1980’s crack cocaine epidemic based in in Los Angeles from the eyes of a young kid with dreams of becoming the largest crime lord who sells marijuana throughout the city, until he gets word about the cocaine business as a potential moneymaker, so he sets out on that journey to make the switch.

3. The Godfather of Harlem, Seasons 1-2

The show is a portrayal of the A gangster named Bumpy Johnson who makes his way in Harlem during the 1960s. A TV prequel to the 2007 film, ‘American Gangster’, starring Denzel Washington which centered on the criminal enterprise of Frank Lucas.

4. All Rise, Seasons 1-2

All Rise is a Court Drama starring Simone Missick as Judge Lola Carmichael which takes a look at the personal and professional lives of the judges & lawyers at how they work together at an L.A. County courthouse.

5. Abbott Elementary, Season 1

This show follows the Four teachers at one of the worst elementary schools in the country and their determined to help their students succeed in life from the mind of Quinta Brunson.
