Betsabeé Romero, a globally recognized Mexican artist, is transforming Kansas City into a hub of cultural celebration in anticipation of the FIFA World Cup 2026. Her installations, spanning April to December 2026, are a collaborative effort with local institutions like the Consulate of Mexico in Kansas City, Belger Arts, Mattie Rhodes Center, The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, and the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art.

Weaving Nets (Tejiendo Redes) at Kansas City Convention Center
- Opening Ceremony: April 25, 2026, at 11 AM
- Location: South Lawn, Kansas City Convention Center, 301 West 13th Street, Kansas City, MO 64105

This installation features two oversized steel soccer-goal structures adorned with 160 metallic figures and hand-woven gold and red ropes. Created in collaboration with local artists and volunteers, Weaving Nets symbolizes unity and creativity.
