Throughout the years, Hollywood has defined what the Old West looked like in movies starring the likes of John Wayne and Clint Eastwood.
After a slew of these nomadic, gun-toting, horse-riding cowboy motion pictures, Netflix is gearing up for its latest release, “The Harder They Fall,” a film that brings old school western and Black culture together with an all-star African American ensemble cast starring Regina King, Idris Elba, Jonathan Majors, and Zazie Beetz, to name a few.
Netflix recently released its action-packed trailer and it doesn’t disappoint, bringing excitement to audiences all across the world.
The plot takes place when an outlaw discovers his enemy is being released from prison, and he reunites his gang to seek revenge. From the trailer, you can tell that the film sticks to the roots of the true essence of the western look. Idris and Regina command attention on the screen with their high-energy performances.
The film has witty dialogue with special effects that will cause you to get immersed in the story. One very important fact that stands out the most about the film is that the majority of all the characters are based on the lives of real-life historical figures.
British singer and songwriter, Jeymes Samuel, who is known for presenting short films with his music, brings his unique cinematography style as the director of this dynamic film.
This movie has a heavy hitter attached to it on the music side, being co-produced by Jay-Z, who also collaborates with Samuel to write and produce original music for the film.
Even though the teaser has everyone excited and ready to dive into viewing this movie, there hasn’t been a release date for us eager movie watchers to circle on our calendars as of yet.
If the movie is as good as the trailer, I see nothing but great accolades coming from this epic piece of art.
