Highlights from the Eastern Missouri & Southern Illinois Monthly Update
This February, our primary focus shifts toward preparation for spring. The winter months are often a time for planning, and our team has been hard at work curating a schedule that brings us together. Staying informed through the Eastern Missouri & Southern Illinois Monthly Update ensures you never miss an opportunity to advocate for your health or connect with others who understand your journey.
We are particularly excited to share details about our upcoming flagship event. It represents more than just a fundraiser; it is a celebration of resilience and community spirit.
Walk to Cure Arthritis: Celebrating 25 Years
Save the date! On May 16, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., we will gather for this year’s Walk to Cure Arthritis. This year is particularly special as we celebrate our 25th anniversary.
The Walk will return to the beautiful grounds of Logan University in Chesterfield, MO, utilizing the same accessible area as last year. For a quarter of a century, this event has served as a rallying cry for patients, families, and caregivers. To honor this milestone, we have curated new activities and special surprises for all our participants.
What to Expect at the Walk
For those who haven’t attended before, the Walk to Cure Arthritis is a completely free, family-friendly event. It features a 1-mile walk on a paved surface, ensuring accessibility for wheelchairs, strollers, and walkers of all abilities.
We welcome everyone—regardless of age, walking speed, or donation level. This is a day to celebrate movement and mutual support. Here is a preview of what you can look forward to:
- Paws-pitality Area: We know pets are family too. Bring your furry friends to our new station dedicated to them.
- Honoree Presentations: Stay tuned to meet the inspiring individuals we will be honoring this year.
- Interactive Stations: Visit booths from our event sponsors and engage with local health partners.

These events range from educational seminars to social gatherings, all designed to foster connection and provide education. Registration is already open for many of these opportunities, and planning is actively underway for the second half of the year.
The Power of Shared Stories
Part of our programming involves sharing our personal health journeys. Understanding the narratives of others can be incredibly healing. For insightful articles on health, culture, and community stories that resonate with our mission, we recommend checking out The Narrative Matters. Their focus on diverse storytelling aligns with our goal of ensuring every voice in the arthritis community is heard.
