“I remember being in 8th grade. My friend’s parents had a camera. I would go over his house and we would do sketch comedy with it. It sent me down a path.”

“I’ve had so many moments where I’m like, is this my first project? I be searching for that self-validation… anytime I work on a project.”

Mike’s entrepreneurial journey began in 2015 with the launch of Effective Communications LLC in Topeka, Kansas. Over the years, relocations—from Kansas to Washington, Missouri, and back to St. Louis—reshaped his business and client base.

Initially focused on corporate video, Mike leveraged his experience working with large companies to understand their needs. But as he transitioned into freelancing, new opportunities emerged—commercials, broadcast television, and web series.

Now in 2026, he’s refining his vision.

“I’m trying to remold that brand right now. I want to define its niche a little bit better.”
