American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women™ Movement

EUREKA, Mo. (Feb. 6, 2026) … Stacy Harris, a Eureka resident and executive at Delta Dental of Missouri, has launched a new campaign to raise awareness and confront women’s heart disease. As a 2026 American Heart Association Woman of Impact, Harris started her campaign on February 6 to help tackle the realities of this critical health issue.
Her goal is to raise funds for vital heart-health research and resources. Additionally, she aims to promote the link between oral health and heart health while inspiring women to lead healthier lives. You can support her campaign by visiting her page at www2.heart.org/goto/impact-from-the-heart.
“Heart disease is the #1 killer of women,” said Harris. “I am inspired by the strength, resilience and courage of heart disease survivors and fighters.”

Building a Team to Champion the Cause
To achieve her goal, Harris will work with a dedicated team of 16 women. This team includes Jessica Grib of south St. Louis County, who personally understands the devastating impact of heart conditions. As a survivor of peripartum cardiomyopathy, her story is a powerful motivator.
“I experienced heart failure when my daughter was born and was placed on maximum life support right after delivery,” explained Grib. “Consequently, I want to spread awareness of heart failure in childbirth and share my story as part of the healing process.”
The Crucial Link Between Oral and Heart Health
A key motivator for Harris is the connection between oral health and heart health. Specifically, bacteria from gum disease can enter the bloodstream and trigger inflammation in the heart and other organs. Therefore, simple habits like brushing twice a day, flossing, eating healthy, and visiting the dentist regularly can protect both your mouth and your heart.
How You Can Get Involved
Donations are being accepted through April 9. Furthermore, supporters can attend a “Shop for Women’s Health” event on February 12 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Leopard Boutique in Webster Groves. Stop by to show your support for this important cause.
“There is power in community,” added Harris. “Together, we can encourage and support healthier mouths, stronger hearts and better health outcomes.”
