Celebrating JuJu Chang’s Contribution to Diversity in Media
Comedian Aida Rodriguez to Host Event at National Press Club on Monday, October 21

The Multicultural Media & Correspondents Association (MMCA) is pleased to announce the 9th Annual Multicultural Media Correspondents Dinner (MMCDTM) being held on Monday, Oct. 21, at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
The invitation-only gathering of journalists, media owners, policymakers, and corporate and advocacy organization executives will again honor media industry luminaries of color and highlight the need for greater diversity in media. Past honorees include Dick Parsons, Jamie Foxx, Tom Joyner, Cathy Hughes, Jennifer Lewis, Robert Rodriguez, Kristen Welker, Lisa Ling, Maria Hinojosa, Richard Lui, Juan Williams, Nikole Hannah-Jones and Soledad O’Brien.
“The MMCDTM is a central part of our effort to grow and sustain our call to action to address structural barriers and create more opportunities for diverse media ownership,” said MMCA President David Morgan. “We look forward to leveraging this year’s event to better align and galvanize diverse media stakeholders, advocates and allies as we collectively prepare to engage with a new Administration and Congress post-election.”
This year’s MMCDTM will be hosted by renowned comedian Aida Rodriguez and feature a presentation of the 2024 Broadcast Journalist Award to legendary Emmy Award winning co-anchor of ABC News Nightline, Juju Chang. It will also feature a moderated discussion with Danielle Conley, Partner at Latham & Watkins LLP and David J. Byrd, CEO at Byrd’s Eye LLC, members of the Biden 2020 and Trump 2016 Presidential Transition teams respectively.
“I am thrilled and grateful to be among those honored by MMCD and gratified to stand with those who are engaged in such meaningful work. ” said Chang.
