From Hustle to Healing: The Holmes Brothers Documentary
The story that once echoed through the streets of St. Louis is now commanding the big screen.
Samir Al-Amin—known to many as Tony Holmes—is continuing the powerful rollout of his gripping documentary, The Holmes Brothers, with another highly anticipated premiere set for February 21, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Galleria 6 Cinemas inside Saint Louis Galleria.
If the momentum from the first showing is any indication, this next screening will be one you do not want to miss. The documentary already drew a packed house and sold-out crowd on February 7 at Family Haven Event Center, where supporters, community leaders, and longtime friends gathered to witness a story decades in the making.
A Story Born in Survival
The Holmes Brothers is more than a documentary—it’s a testimony.
Samir and his younger brother Shaun Holmes became neighborhood legends in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Growing up in poverty, raised by a teenage mother battling addiction, survival became a responsibility Samir embraced at an early age. Hungry siblings and unstable conditions forced him to grow up fast. Too young for legitimate employment, he hustled however he could—cutting grass, shoveling snow, taking out trash—until he found himself drawn into a world that promised quick money and immediate relief.
By just 12 and 14 years old, the Holmes brothers had reportedly touched one million dollars in cash—an unimaginable feat for boys not even old enough to drive. But with rapid success came danger, betrayal, and consequences.
The Rise, The Sentence, The Shift
As their name rang louder in the streets, so did the risks. Samir was eventually arrested and served 10 years in prison. What could have been the end became a transformation. In solitude, he discovered that his talent, intelligence, and drive extended far beyond hustling.
He made a decision: the streets would not define his future.
While Samir committed to change, tragedy struck. After struggling to leave the lifestyle behind, his younger brother Shaun was murdered in a double homicide tied to a robbery. The loss reshaped everything.
That heartbreak, combined with faith and reflection, became the foundation for the man Samir is today.
From Hustle to Healing
Now a businessman, community leader, podcast host, film company owner, and founder of Holmes Home Improvement LLC, Samir channels the same energy that once built an underground empire into legitimate ventures. Accepting Islam, he says, was the greatest decision of his life, giving him structure, clarity, and purpose.
Through The Holmes Brothers, he opens the door to the full story—childhood hunger, brotherhood loyalty, street success, incarceration, devastating loss, and spiritual rebirth.
“It’s going to be a great watch, a heartfelt watch, and an emotional watch,” Samir shares. And those who attended the February 7 premiere can attest—it delivers on every level.
Don’t Miss the Next Premiere
With one sold-out screening already in the books, the February 21 premiere at Galleria 6 Cinemas is expected to draw another strong crowd. This is more than a film screening—it’s a community moment. A reflection. A warning. A redemption story.
From survival to spirituality, from million-dollar counts to meaningful impact, Samir Al-Amin is reclaiming his narrative—and inviting the world to witness it.
The curtain rises again on February 21 at 1 p.m.
Be there.
