For all Black girls and women, or anyone who knows a Black girl, loves a Black girl, or wants to celebrate a Black girl: join the inaugural Grit, Glam & Guts’ Black Girl Day of Play event from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 25 at the lawn of the State Capitol Building in Lansing.

Women of all ages can attend the Black Girl Day of Play day where thousands of women from Lansing and across the state will experience the joy of play on the state’s Capitol lawn. Together, the event will celebrate Black girlhood through dozens of “play” stations, such as life-size Connect4, life-size Jenga, basketball, and family activities. There will be food trucks, vendors, and a community art project.

Through Black Girl Day of Play, the organization plans to promote health and wellness among Black women and girls, foster support & community for Black women and girls, and recognize the power of Black women-centered events.
