Nationwide, 6% of students were enrolled in Advanced Placement classes in the 2017-2018 school year, according to an analysis of data from the U.S. Department of Education’s Civil Rights Data Collection. The number of Black and Hispanic students enrolled were both below the national average, with only 3.7% of Black students and 5.1% of Hispanic students enrolled in AP classes.
