St Louis, MO has always pride itself in being the city of firsts. Sure, the U.S.A., 21st largest market in the country has seen its share of issues and loss.

Moreover, if you ever in the Gateway City to the West on a visit. You will be amazed with all the progress and construction cranes blazing the skies.

The first female, and black owned clinical lab founded by Danita Smith, a lovely registered nurse. In the chaste suburb called Overland, about 11 miles west of downtown St Louis, Danita opened Bloomington Health Lab.

I tried to call her to ask her a few questions, but she was not available at the time. The great thing about the lab is that it offers affordable lab tests, so that everyone will have access to follow through with their health status.

Danita wants to be certain that she provides necessary resources to the community she serves. Other services that Bloomington Health lab provide to the public are paternity testing, instant Lipid testing and EKG’s.

At Bloomington Health Lab there is also Covid-19 testing, mobile phlebotomy and 5 panel and 10 panel employer drug screening. It is also Missouri state Medicare and Medicaid certified for all.

Whilst diabetes and heart/kidney failure are the main culprits of decimating our communities, Danita most certainly will be a huge access for our people of color as a result.
