Quick Look: The 5th Episcopal District Women’s Missionary Society of AME Church Family & Friends Day kicked off Saturday

I stopped in briefly to chat with Pastor Booker and got to meet some very interesting vendors who were just setting up this morning.

Food, neighbors, music, vendors, back to school giveaways and good faith awaits. At the historic St Paul AME Church, 1260 Hamilton Ave., in St Louis, MO, on the west side.

Vaccination and boosters are available for the kids and adults. There is an educational center as well as vendors on hand passing out great informational tools.

I stopped in briefly to chat with Pastor Booker and got to meet some very interesting vendors who were just setting up this morning. The Foster Adoptive Coalition: For Every Child .. A Place Call Home, were also on hand giving information on adoption. We don’t speak much about adoption of our black children and the vendors were on hand to start the narratives.

Cisely Beard and Heather Craig were the Respond team available to answer any questions if anyone is interested in adoption. The target is aimed for foster/adoptive parents for black/African Americans.

Their mission is to create permanency in foster’s children’s lives by recruiting and supporting foster and adoptive families in the metropolitan St Louis region.

The Micah Ministry AME Church, 5th Episcopal District Missouri Annual Conference, St Louis-Cape-Girardeau District, also had brochure talking about their services; education and awareness. They also offer financial assistance to caregivers. But they must be caring for a loved one with a form of dementia.

And assistance can be requested once per quarter.

Un Gun also had a booth set up. UnGun is the “New Healed” is a transformational process that helps clients elevate emotionally from stuck hurt, and pain, caused by trauma. Dr. Marty K. Casey: Peace is the promise and reward of rightness. Connect grow & Go.

The City of St Louis Department of Human Services Homeless Services Division, Ketosha Harris, Ed.D and Richard Dixon also had a table set up. They wanted to make sure people are aware of the growing problems that plagues that homeless population.
