For the second year in a row there will be a team playing at home in the Super Bowl. Last year the home team Tampa Bay Buccaneers were able to slow down the prolific Kansas City Chiefs offense and win their second Super Bowl in Franchise history.

This year it’s the Los Angeles Rams who are still trying to win over hearts in the city of Los Angeles, and the Cinderella story of the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals, according to many, have arrived early to the dance and are playing with house money with nothing to lose.

Because they weren’t supposed to be here in the first place.

The Bengals come into the game riding the back of the second year Quarterback Joe Burrow. Burrow who was the number one overall pick in the 2020 draft, coming off the best statistical college football season anyone had ever had, and winning the Heisman.

Burrow showed flashed brilliance in year one but didn’t quite have all the pieces to compete yet and against the Washington Football Team his season ended early with a torn ACL. The team added rookie wideout and Burrow’s college teammate Jamarr Chase, and Burrow came back from his 2020 injury hitting his stride.

With Pittsburgh on its last leg with Big Ben, Lamar Jackson and Baker Mayfield hurt for the Ravens and Browns respectively down the stretch. Cincinnati had a window into winning the AFC North Title and they took it.  As a result from them surviving a close game with the Las Vegas Raiders at home.

Joe Burrow survived and overcame 9 sacks against the Tennessee Titans in the Divisional playoff game to make it to Kansas City. The Chiefs were riding a large early lead and failed to score at the end of half time.

After K.C. had the ball on the 1 yard line with at least a couple of tries to score, and the clock ran out of time before they could get a touchdown or attempt a field goal. That swung momentum, and a great adjustment made by the Cincinnati defense took Patrick Mahomes out of rhythm.

So, Joe Burrow and the Who Dey Cats from the Queen City are now cruising into LA with a chance to bring home a Lombardi Trophy.

The LA Rams are the home team that decided to push all of their chips to the middle of the table to try to win a Super Bowl this year.  After losing confidence in Jared Goff, the Rams traded for Matthew Stafford.

The Rams also signed Odell Beckham Jr after he was released by the Browns. Couper Cupp was the offensive player of the year, and the Rams traded for Von Miller to add to their already formidable defensive line that features the best defensive lineman of his generation Aaron Donald.

Sprinkle in Jalen Ramsey at Corner, the offensive genius of Sean McVay and Kevin O’Connell this LA team is stacked and they will be difficult to beat in the Super Bowl.

Rams will win the line of scrimmage and Aaron Donald and Von Miller will make it a very long day for Joe Burrow.  The Rams have just too many great receivers to cover, and too many great defensive lineman to block. As long as Sean McVay doesn’t get conservative and try to just sit on a lead, this game is the Rams to lose.

Final score: 30-23 Rams (Rams will cover the spread of 4 points).

The Over Under for this game is 48.5  I would bet the under as Joe Burrow will be looking up at the lights at least a few times from being sacked by this Rams defense.
