Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown may be gearing up for his first NBA Finals, but he is also
making moves off the court. According to reports, Brown has become the first NBA player to
sign with Donda Sports.

Donda Sports is a sports marketing agency created by hip hop artist Kanye West. West and
Brown built a relationship over time (including a time West attended a Celtics/Warriors game
earlier this year) and “because of his intelligence, social activism and charitable work,” West
saw Brown as a natural fit.

Brown spoke on his decision on Wednesday during a Finals press conference.
“It was time. For me, like I said, anytime I make a life decision, I contemplate. I think about
things deeply,” Brown said, “And from what I want to do, the missions I want to get
accomplished, it was the right decision.”

Donda Sports also signed Los Angeles Rams star Aaron Donald, who announced his decision
on the I Am Athlete podcast. Donald called it a “no-brainer.”
“[Hearing] the whole spectrum of everything that was going on, what they were going to be
bringing, the family atmosphere that they got, for me, it was a no-brainer,” Aaron explained to
former NFL players Brandon Marshall and Chad Johnson. “I think it’s a hell of an opportunity to
open up a lot of different doors and a lot of different things outside of football that I wanna be
involved in. To be a part of that, and be one of the first athletes to be a part of that, it’s pretty

While Brown and Donald are the first athletes to sign with Donda Sports, former NFL wide
receiver Antonio Brown joined the agency earlier this year in a leadership role. The agency
released a statement after his decision.

“Donda Sports was founded with the vision of providing holistic support to athletes during and
beyond their sports career,” the statement said. “Donda Sports is a limitless organization
centered on professional and wellness support in equal measure with the ambition to work with
athletes across all genders, divisions, and sports.”

West is building something special. And with Brown and Donald under the agency, it could go far.
