The Harlem Globetrotters are a legendary team that has brought laughs and joy to both young and old basketball fans. They have been around since 1929 (they were the Chicago Globetrotters and New York Harlem Globetrotters before that), and today, they are still going strong.

The Globetrotters have added a new player to their roster, and this player is a champion and was drafted in the 2023 WNBA Draft. That player is Alexis Morris.

Alexis Morris was a member of the 2023 Louisiana State Tigers that beat Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Morris averaged 15.4 points, 4.1 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.8 steals for LSU that season. During their tournament run, she averaged 16.8 points and 3.8 assists. Morris spent two years with LSU, and before that, she played for Baylor, Rutgers, and Texas A&M.

Morris was the 22nd pick of the 2023 WNBA Draft. She was selected by the Connecticut Sun. She was later waived by the Sun during training camp. Now, Morris joins a legendary club and will be the seventh current woman to join the Globetrotters. This is the most in Globetrotter history. The other women include Fatima, ‘TNT’ Lister, Cherelle ‘Torch’ George, Arysia ‘Ace’ Porter, Kaylin ‘Sunshine’ West, Eryka ‘Spice’ Sidney, and Kayla Gabor.

Morris will make her debut this Friday, when the Globetrotters visit MassMutual Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. Morris is ready to get things going.

“I’m excited to join the Harlem Globetrotters and want to thank the leadership team for allowing me to grow my personal and professional career while playing the game I love,” said Morris. “There is a lot to learn from my coaches and teammates and I’m excited to highlight the level of basketball and entertainment of the organization. ‘The Show’ is now a part of the growing legacy of Harlem Globetrotters basketball.”

The Globetrotters are still going strong, and the addition of a talented, exciting player like Morris ensures that their legacy will continue.
