They say the Blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice…

My juice is overflowing, fancy free… footloose too, in my Blackness I now be…

My Blackness is Divine, cause my Blackness is created from the darkness of the soil of Mother earth…

Now I wrap my heart and hug my soul in seven principles created by Dr. Karenga celebrating family community and our Culture… Thanks Creator for him and our Blackness too!!!

It’s a Black thing you see…

I’ve got my Kwanzaa on!

I’ve got my Kwanzaa on!

It’s alright! It’s ok!

Ase. Ase is what I say!

It’s all good in our neighborhood

Our Blackness is our bond

We ain’t jiving or conniving

Togetherness in Umoja, our unity is based in we, them and us

Joined with our sisters and brothers as we raise our families, build community and at oneness with our race and the world celebrating our culture and history…

It’s a Black thing you see…

I’ve got my Kwanzaa on!

I’ve got my Kwanzaa on!

It’s alright! It’s ok!

Ase. Ase is what I say!

Kujichagulia

Say It again

Kujichagulia

Self-determination makes it plain, we define ourselves, speak for ourselves, no one gets to speak for us saying untruths and lies to defame us, dehumanize us, marginalize us… We even get to name ourselves. Create for ourselves no necessity for external validation and fame.

Ujima

No challenges, no problem we cannot resolve, Cause in our Blackness through “collective work and responsibility,” ujima refers to uplifting our community.

“Ujamaa

Brothers and Sisters, let us understand,

you buy from me, and I buy from you.

We buy from us… building wealth, cause we know our value and our worth,

Creating our own through cooperative economics, we plant seeds for our children, crating our own Black Legacy…

It’s all good you see individually and collectively, Together in our Blackness from the depth of our soul we rise to our traditional greatness…

Nia means purpose…purpose in our hearts, we build, build for all our good… our Families. Community and our culture too!

Creativity, Creativity,

Let’s not forget. we being black,

comes in many different flavors…

What ever the flavor we bring beauty for all to see reflective in all types of artistry

Flavoring, seasoning everything, people, places, and things with our Blackness individually and collectively for our families, community,

And our race…

Imani, Imani! Well, well, just let me say where would we be without our faith… It is well known we have come this far by faith

Dr. Karenga writes: faith in community, “To believe with all our heart in our people, our parents, our teachers, our leaders and the righteousness and victory of our struggle.”

 Don’t Cost you nothing Beloved,

You wake up Black every day,

 So, affirm in some way…

It’s a Black thing you see…

I’ve got my Kwanzaa on!

I’ve got my Kwanzaa on!

It’s alright! It’s ok!
