Why this petition matters

Started by Michelle Martin

My sister Robin Simpson, was brutally murdered by her husband, Michael Simpson Jr. in Houston, TX. This horrific act of violence wasn’t just a murder; it was a savage act that involved stabbing her over 100 times and removing her heart, brain, gutted and mutilated her body, all while their 8-year-old daughter watched helplessly fearing for own life. He chased them through the house yielding a knife as he terrorized Robin to death.

All the while the Houston Police sat outside of her house as this happened. According to HPD, Lt. R. Willkens told FOX 26 Houston, Robin called the police about her husband running around the house with a knife having suicidal thoughts and they were pulling up as her call dropped. Robin called the police twice as she was being chased and attacked. The  one officer got there he waited outside the house for the other officer to arrive before they went out back. We want to know how long did it take  from her call till the first officer arrived till the 2nd officer arrived. How much time did Michael Simpson Jr her killer have to gut her body, take out her brain and heart?

The Houston PPD has denied Right To Know Request from several media outlets regarding the release of Robin’s actual phone calls to the police and the timeline of the officer’s arrival time along with body cam footage.

Michael’s father Michael Simpson Sr. has retained a law firm in Houston, retained Power of Attorney for his son and is now trying to help his son get bond because they have the means to do so. Ignoring the fact that his granddaughter was traumatized as she watched her father brutally kill her mother. Her own grandfather is willing to traumatize his own granddaughter as he knows she is extremely afraid her father will come and try to kill her.

Despite the severity of this crime, the murderer has been granted bail by Judge Robert Johnson of Houston Criminal District Court. You can contact him at 177th Criminal Court: 1201 Franklin St., 19th Floor Houston, TX 77002 (832) 927-4250.

Judge Robert Johnson is also up for re-election in 2024. Houston please remember this when it is time to vote in 2024.

This is not an isolated incident. According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV), nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. That equates to more than 10 million women and men each year. Furthermore, intimate partner violence accounts for 15% of all violent crime.

The legal system’s response to such heinous crimes should be firm and uncompromising. Granting bail to individuals who have committed such brutal acts sends a dangerous message about our society’s tolerance towards domestic violence.

We demand justice for my sister and all victims of domestic violence whose murderers are allowed back into society due to lenient bail conditions. We urge lawmakers and judicial authorities to revoke bail for individuals charged with such gruesome crimes, thereby ensuring they face the full consequences of their actions.

Robin was the most beautiful person with a bright warm smile that was loved by her family, friends, co-workers, community and her Delta sorority sisters. She was a very bright light in this world and she showered everyone she came across with love and warmth.

We are also trying to raise money for an attorney to help navigate us through this horrific process. Every little bit helps! CLICK HERE -> JUSTICE FOR ROBIN

Please sign this petition if you believe that no person who commits such atrocious acts should be allowed back on our streets while awaiting trial.
