When our world seems to be falling around our feet like confetti, it can be challenging to try to find some good in it.

Some experts believe a simple shift in one’s mindset can change your life in the most unimaginable ways.

Think back to a trying time in your life.

Did you focus on the negatives of the situation more than you tried to find the silver lining?

Did you find it easy to feel sorry for yourself rather than take steps to improve your circumstance?

Charles F. Glassman, author of Brain Drain The Breakthrough That Will Change Your Life, said “Believing in negative thoughts is the single greatest obstruction to success.”

It can be tempting to take convenient routes to tackle your problems. Unfortunately, these routes often come in the form of negative thinking, which can sometimes be to your detriment.

How you react to your problems will determine how well you overcome them, and through mindset shifts, you’ll be more likely to conquer the rough times.

Through much research, there have been proven ways for a person to shift a negative mindset into a positive one.

First, show gratitude for all that you have right now and for the people in your life. They’re a blessing, even if you don’t realize it yet.

Next, realize that the situation you may currently be in isn’t your final destination. You’re simply on a journey to the most transcendent part of your life.

Lastly, when negative thoughts start to creep in, don’t be so hard on yourself.

It’s imperative to remind yourself that you’re doing the best you can, and you don’t need everything figured out at this very moment.

Author Cole Todd once said “Positive thinking (much like negative thinking) gets easier with practice.” By practicing negative mindset shifts daily, you can make the best out of any situation.

You have more power over your thoughts than you realize.
