SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
The Area 4 Agency on Aging has launched a public awareness campaign for the California state CalFresh Program, to make sure no one goes hungry in the community.
The nonprofit serves seven counties: Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, Sierra, Sutter, Yolo, and Yuba.
“This initiative aims to ensure that low-income adults 60 years and older, and adults with disabilities have access to healthy and nutritious food, emphasizing AAA4’s commitment to making this vital assistance accessible to those in need,” according to a news release.
Here’s what the Agency on Aging Area 4’s CalFresh Specialists can provide:
• Personalized assistance for free
• Program referrals
• Guidance on benefits
CalFresh Coordinator Dennis Eldridge joined KCRA 3 Monday morning to explain why some older adults may not be participating in the program. Watch in the video above.
