BET is launching an exciting new campaign called ‘Where Black Fathers are Celebrated?’, which aims to celebrate fathers and father figures within the Black community. This campaign will be held in conjunction with Juneteenth and Father’s Day, and it seeks to honor the 157 years of freedom that have passed since the abolition of slavery in the United States.

Starting on May 26, 2022, BET invites individuals to participate in this campaign by submitting a one-minute video that appreciates and praises a Black father or father figure. The video should highlight the significant impact this individual has had on their life and within the greater community.

BET aims to create an open platform where people can share heartfelt stories and express gratitude towards these influential figures.  To ensure fairness and impartiality, a group of BET employees will review and judge the entries. Out of all the submissions, one grand prize winner will be chosen and awarded a remarkable $10,000.

Additionally, 156 second-prize winners will have the opportunity to select a themed BET Father’s Day Gift Box from a collection of ten options. The campaign will conclude on Friday, June 10th, with the winners being selected on June 11th.The official announcement of the winners will take place on June 19th, which is Juneteenth—a day that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans.

Black Dads Stand Up! represents an incredible initiative to recognize the important role that Black fathers and father figures play in shaping lives and communities. By providing a platform for individuals to express their appreciation, BET encourages a sense of unity and gratitude within the Black community.

This campaign not only celebrates the accomplishments and positive influence of Black fathers but also highlights the significance of Juneteenth as a milestone in American history. BET’s commitment to amplifying these stories and recognizing the resilience and strength of Black families is commendable.  As we approach Juneteenth and Father’s Day, let us take the opportunity to honor and uplift the Black fathers and father figures in our lives.
